Fulbright Scholar

Spring 2026

A Fulbright scholar is a recipient of a prestigious, merit-based grant from the Fulbright Program, which is a U.S. government program promoting international educational and cultural exchange to foster mutual understanding. Scholars are accomplished students, academics, artists, teachers, and professionals from any field who receive opportunities to teach, conduct research, or pursue their respective professional or artistic projects in another country, or to come to the U.S. for such exchanges. The goal is to build connections, share ideas, and find solutions to global challenges.

I am fortunate to have received a Fulbright grant to study and conduct research in Ljubljana, Slovenia in the spring of 2026. My project aims to enhance the Special Education and Rehabilitation master's program at the University of Ljubljana. This will be accomplished by bolstering the existing curriculum with specialized content related to autism, and providing master's students with supervised practical experience. Using a quasi-experimental research design, the project will assess the impact of the training on students' self-efficacy, autism intervention skills, and theoretical fluency. The outcomes are expected to improve both teaching quality and intervention efficacy, contributing to broader efforts in autism education reform in Slovenia and beyond.
